The Art of Composition


This is a photo of Simplicity. Simplicity is having one subject with a simple background, like the picture above. I took a flower out of my mom's garden and I held it up with my left hand and I took the picture with my right hand.


Rule of thirds is when you have the subject in the picture on one side or corner of the picture instead of the center. In the picture above, my little sister was running and I moved my camera to the right so she can be on the left side of the photo.


Framing a picture is really easy, there's many things out there that you can use as a frame while you're taking pictures. In the picture above, I had my car parked when I found a bush on the right side of the car, my subject was in between the two bushes.


Directional lines are lines that lead a viewers eye into the picture. Your eye always follows the lines in the picture. I used marbles that I found at home to create a curving line that leads your eye in the photo.
